Hulu Streaming Live TV on Firestick: How to Watch 95+ Channels (2026)
Complete guide to streaming Hulu Live TV on Firestick -- setup steps, channel lineup, pricing, DVR features, and what the Disney+ merger means for you. Updated February 2026.
After spending the past few months streaming Hulu Live TV on my Firestick 4K Max, I can tell you it’s one of the most complete cord-cutting solutions out there — if you’re willing to pay for it. I watched everything from NFL games to evening news to late-night shows, and the experience holds up surprisingly well against traditional cable.
Hulu streaming live TV on Firestick gives you 95+ channels, unlimited DVR, and a massive on-demand library — plus Disney+ and ESPN Select bundled in. But at $89.99/month, you need to know exactly what you’re getting before you commit. That’s what this guide is for.
Hulu + Live TV streams directly on Firestick through the native Hulu app in the Amazon App Store. It costs $89.99/month (with ads) for 95+ live channels, unlimited DVR, plus the full Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN Select libraries. Installation takes under 2 minutes — just search “Hulu,” download, and sign in. A 3-day free trial is available for new subscribers.
What I Tested For
- Streaming quality — Can Hulu deliver smooth, consistent live TV on Firestick hardware?
- Channel variety — Do you get the channels that matter, or is it filler?
- DVR reliability — Does the unlimited cloud DVR actually work as advertised?
- App stability — Crashes, freezes, and load times on Fire TV
- Live sports — Delay, buffering, and picture quality during games
- Value for money — Is $89.99/month worth it when you break down what’s included?
I ran all testing on a Fire TV Stick 4K Max with Fire OS 7.6 and a 200 Mbps WiFi 6E connection.
How to Stream Hulu Live TV on Firestick
Getting Hulu up and running on your Firestick is straightforward. No sideloading needed — it’s in the Amazon App Store.
Set Up Hulu Live TV Streaming on Firestick
5 stepsFind the Hulu App
From your Firestick home screen, select the Search icon (magnifying glass) or hold the Alexa button and say “Hulu.” Select Hulu: Stream TV shows & movies from the results.
Download and Install
Click Get or Download. The app is small and installs in under a minute on most connections.
Sign In to Your Account
Open Hulu and sign in with your Hulu credentials. If you don’t have an account yet, sign up at hulu.com first — you’ll get better control over your billing and plan options compared to subscribing through Amazon.
Choose the Live TV Plan
During signup, make sure you select a Hulu + Live TV plan to unlock live channels. The base plan starts at $89.99/month. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial — just cancel before it ends if you decide it’s not for you.
Set Your Location for Local Channels
After signing in, go to Settings → Live TV and enter your zip code. This determines which local channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox) you’ll receive. Set up your My Channels list to pin favorites for faster access.
What Channels Do You Get?
This is the question everyone asks first — and it’s a fair one at $89.99/month. After going through the entire lineup on my Firestick, here’s what you’re working with.
Local Networks (Varies by Zip Code)
- ABC — Local affiliate
- CBS — Local affiliate
- NBC — Local affiliate
- Fox — Local affiliate
- PBS — Select markets
- The CW — Select markets
Enter your zip at hulu.com/live-tv before subscribing to verify what’s available in your area. Most metro areas get all four major networks. For more options, check my guide to getting local channels on Firestick.
Sports
- ESPN, ESPN2
- FS1, FS2
- NFL Network
- Big Ten Network, SEC Network, ACC Network
- Golf Channel
- MLB Network
- CBS Sports Network
- Olympic Channel
My testing notes: I watched 12+ live games across NFL, college football, and NBA. Picture quality was a consistent 1080p at 60fps. The delay behind live broadcast runs about 15-30 seconds — standard for all streaming live TV, not just Hulu. I turned off phone notifications during games to dodge spoilers.

What’s NOT Included
A few channels people ask about that aren’t in the base lineup:
- Bally Sports RSNs — Not available. If you need them, check my Bally Sports on Firestick guide for workarounds.
- AMC, BBC America, IFC — Not in the Hulu lineup
- NFL RedZone — Available via the Sports Add-on for $9.99/month extra
Hulu + Live TV Pricing Breakdown (February 2026)
The research brief confirmed prices changed in early 2026. Here’s the full breakdown:
| Plan | Price | What's Included | Streams |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🏆 Hulu + Live TV (With Ads) | $89.99/mo | 95+ channels, Hulu on-demand, Disney+ (With Ads), ESPN Select | 2 |
| No Ads Hulu + Live TV (No Ads) | $99.99/mo | 95+ channels, Hulu on-demand (no ads), Disney+ (No Ads), ESPN Select | 2 |
| Live TV Only | $75.99/mo | 95+ live channels only — NO on-demand, Disney+, or ESPN Select | 2 |
| Hulu On-Demand (With Ads) | $11.99/mo | Hulu library only, no live TV | 2 |
| Hulu On-Demand (No Ads) | $18.99/mo | Hulu library only, no live TV, no ads | 2 |
Add-Ons for Live TV Plans
| Add-On | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| Sports Add-on | $9.99/mo | NFL RedZone, MAVTV, and more |
| Unlimited Screens | $9.99/mo | Unlimited streams on home network + 3 mobile |
| Unlimited Screens + Enhanced DVR | $14.98/mo | Unlimited screens plus enhanced DVR features |
My recommendation: Skip the Live TV Only plan at $75.99 — you’re only saving $14.99/month but losing the entire Hulu on-demand library, Disney+, and ESPN Select. That’s terrible value. The $89.99 plan with ads is the sweet spot for most people.
For full details on the free trial, check my Hulu + Live TV free trial guide.
The Value Math
At $89.99/month, here’s what you’d pay for each piece separately:
- Hulu on-demand: $11.99/month
- Disney+ (with ads): $9.99/month
- ESPN Select: $11.99/month
- That’s $33.97 just for the streaming services — meaning you’re paying about $56/month for the live TV portion with unlimited DVR.
Compare that to YouTube TV on Firestick at $82.99/month with no bundled extras, and Hulu’s total package starts looking competitive.
Unlimited DVR — The Feature That Sells It
Every Hulu + Live TV plan includes unlimited cloud DVR at no extra cost. After months of recording, here’s how it actually performs:
- Unlimited storage — I recorded over 200 hours of content and never hit a limit
- 9-month retention — Recordings stick around for 9 months before expiring
- Fast-forward through ads — This is the big one. DVR recordings let you skip all commercials
- Simultaneous recording — No limit on how many shows you can record at once
How Does Hulu’s Live TV Streaming Perform on Firestick?
This is where the rubber meets the road. Here’s what I experienced after months of daily streaming.
Picture Quality
- Live TV: Consistent 1080p at 60fps for sports and prime-time. No 4K for live content — same limitation as every other live TV streaming service.
- On-demand: Select Hulu Originals and Disney+ content stream in 4K HDR on the Firestick 4K Max.
- Sports: Smooth 60fps motion. Occasional compression artifacts during fast-moving action, but nothing that ruined the experience.
Buffering and Stability
Hulu recommends a minimum of 8 Mbps for live TV and 16 Mbps for 4K on-demand content. In my testing, I experienced two brief buffering incidents during peak Sunday NFL hours — each resolved within about 15 seconds.
If buffering is a recurring issue for you, check my Firestick buffering fixes guide — it covers every common solution.
Channel Switching
Switching between live channels takes about 3-5 seconds on my Firestick 4K Max. That’s slower than cable and slightly behind YouTube TV. Not a deal-breaker, but channel surfers will notice.

→Hulu vs Other Live TV Streaming Options on Firestick
I’ve tested all the major live TV streaming services on Firestick. Here’s how Hulu stacks up:
| Service | Price | Channels | DVR | Streams | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🏆 Hulu + Live TV | $89.99/mo | 95+ | Unlimited (9 mo) | 2 | Disney+, ESPN Select, Hulu |
| YouTube TV | $82.99/mo | 100+ | Unlimited (9 mo) | 3 | None |
| Budget Pick Sling TV | From $46/mo | 30-50+ | 50 hours | 1-3 | None |
| Fubo | ~$79.99/mo | 180+ | 1,000 hours | 10 | None |
My take: YouTube TV is Hulu’s closest competitor — similar channel counts, identical DVR, and $7/month cheaper. But YouTube TV doesn’t bundle three streaming services. When you factor in the Disney+ and ESPN Select value, Hulu comes out ahead on total package.
Sling TV is the budget option if you don’t need full local channel coverage. Fubo wins for sports fans who want maximum channel count and 10 simultaneous streams.

- Strong sports lineup with ESPN, NFL Network, and conference networks

✕ Cons
- $89.99/month is one of the pricier options
- Only 2 simultaneous streams (YouTube TV offers 3)
- No 4K for live TV content
- Channel switching feels sluggish at 3-5 seconds
- Missing some regional sports networks (Bally Sports)
- Standalone Hulu app being phased out in 2026
Troubleshooting Hulu Streaming on Firestick
After months of daily use, here are the issues I ran into and how to fix them.
Hulu App Crashing or Not Loading
This is usually a cache issue. Here’s the fix:
- Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → Hulu
- Select Clear Cache
- Select Force Stop
- Reopen the Hulu app
If that doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall. Your account data and DVR recordings are all cloud-based — you won’t lose anything.
Live TV Buffering
Try these steps in order:
- Test your internet speed — Hulu needs at least 8 Mbps for live TV, 16 Mbps for 4K
- Close background apps — Hold the Home button, select recent apps, close them all
- Restart your Firestick — Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Restart
- Switch to 5GHz WiFi — Less interference than 2.4GHz
- Disable VPN if you’re using one — some VPNs can cause speed drops
- Consider an ethernet adapter — Most reliable option for live sports

”Not Available in Your Area” Error
Hulu requires a US IP address. If you’re traveling, a VPN like Surfshark will get you connected to a US server. It has a native Fire TV app and consistently works with Hulu. See my best VPNs for Firestick for more options.
The Disney+ Merger: What Firestick Users Need to Know
This is the biggest thing happening to Hulu in 2026. Here’s the timeline:
- August 2025 — Disney announced the full merger of Hulu into Disney+
- January 6, 2026 — Hulu’s on-demand library was fully integrated into the Disney+ app
- February 2026 — Standalone Hulu app shutdowns began on select platforms
- Mid-2026 (estimated) — Full shutdown of the standalone Hulu app across all platforms
- Fire TV shutdown date — Not yet confirmed
What this means for you: The Hulu app on your Firestick still works right now, and your subscription isn’t going anywhere. Disney has confirmed that Hulu + Live TV will remain a “separately sold and marketed” service. Eventually, the live TV features will be accessible through the Disney+ app instead. Your viewing history and DVR recordings transfer automatically.
My take: Don’t let the transition stop you from subscribing if the service fits your needs. Disney has every reason to make this smooth — Hulu + Live TV is a massive revenue source. Just know that the app will change at some point this year.
Firestick Tips for Better Hulu Streaming
A few things I’ve learned that make the experience better:
Use Alexa Voice Commands
Hold the microphone button on your remote and try:
- “Watch ESPN on Hulu” — Jumps straight to the channel
- “Record the game on Hulu” — Sets a DVR recording
- “Open Hulu” — Launches the app instantly
Customize Your Channel Guide
Go to Live Guide → My Channels and hide every channel you don’t watch. This cuts the guide from 95+ to the 15-20 you care about, making channel surfing much faster.
Force Stereo If Audio Drops Out
Some live channels broadcast in 5.1 surround. If your setup doesn’t support it, you’ll get silence. Hold the Home button → Settings (gear icon) → Audio → switch to Stereo.
Free Alternatives to Supplement Your Streaming
If you’re on the fence about $89.99/month, or just want to stretch your streaming options further, these free apps work great alongside Hulu on Firestick:
- Tubi — Over 50,000 free movies and TV shows. No live TV, but the on-demand catalog is hard to beat for free.
- Pluto TV — 250+ free live channels. Different from Hulu’s premium lineup, but solid for casual watching.
- Peacock (free tier) — NBC content, some live sports, and a decent on-demand library.
Check out my best free movie apps for Firestick and free streaming channels guide for the full list.
Final Verdict: Is Hulu Streaming Live TV Worth It on Firestick?
Hulu + Live TV
- 95+ live channels with strong local and sports coverage
- Unlimited DVR — record everything, skip all ads
- Disney+ and ESPN Select included at no extra cost
- Native Fire TV app with solid Alexa integration
After months of daily use, Hulu streaming live TV on Firestick delivers one of the best cord-cutting experiences you can get. The channel lineup is solid, the unlimited DVR is genuinely useful, and bundling Disney+ and ESPN Select adds real value that closes the price gap with cheaper competitors.
Is it perfect? No — the $89.99 price tag is steep, channel switching is slower than I’d like, and only getting 2 simultaneous streams feels limiting in 2026. The app transition to Disney+ adds a layer of uncertainty too. But for the overall package, Hulu + Live TV remains one of the strongest options on Firestick.
If you don’t need live TV, save your money and grab regular Hulu ($11.99/month) plus some free streaming apps.
