What is Sideloading?
Sideloading means installing apps from sources other than the Amazon Appstore. The Amazon Appstore is limited — it doesn't carry many popular streaming apps like Stremio, Cinema HD, or SmartTube. Sideloading lets you install them manually using APK files. It's legal, safe (when you use trusted sources), and supported by Firestick's own settings.
| Method | Difficulty | Needs PC? | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🏆 Downloader App | Easy | No | Most users — enter a URL, install |
| Send Files to TV | Easy | Yes (phone/PC) | Transferring APKs from another device |
| ADB / adbLink | Advanced | Yes | Power users, bulk installs |
| FileSynced / Unlinked | Medium | No | Code-based app stores |
Before You Sideload: Enable Unknown Sources
On newer Firestick models, you'll see per-app toggles instead of a single switch. Enable it for the Downloader app (or whichever app you're using to install APKs).
Method 1: Downloader App (Recommended)
- Search "Downloader" in the Amazon Appstore and install it (by AFTVnews)
- Open Downloader and enter the APK URL in the address bar

- Done — the app appears in your Apps & Channels list
