Most Fire TV users have heard of Stremio. Arvio takes the same idea — a clean media center that pulls in content through addons — and packages it as a standalone APK you can sideload on virtually any Android-based streaming device. I set it up on my Firestick 4K Max running Fire OS 8 and had it pulling content within about ten minutes, addon URLs and all.

The install process isn’t complicated, but it’s not one-click either. You’ll need to flip a couple of developer settings, run a Downloader code, and configure your addons before anything actually plays. This guide walks through every step in order — no guesswork, no skipped bits.

Quick Answer

To install Arvio on Firestick or Fire TV: enable Developer Options in Settings, install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore, then enter code 250931 to access the TROYPOINT Toolbox and download Arvio directly. After install, add your Stremio addon manifest URLs under Settings → Addons. The whole process takes under 10 minutes.

What Is Arvio — And Is It Worth Installing?

Arvio is a free Stremio-based media streaming app. Like Stremio, it doesn’t come with built-in content — instead, it’s a player and organizer that relies on third-party addons to surface movies, TV shows, and other streams. Think of it as a clean front-end that connects to wherever your addons point it.

The reason people install Arvio rather than just using Stremio directly is flexibility — it’s a standalone APK that can be sideloaded on devices where the official Stremio app might not be available or optimized, including certain Google TV sticks and older Fire TV hardware. The app itself is free. Where costs come in is with third-party addons — some are free, others require a Real-Debrid subscription or a paid IPTV service to actually deliver reliable streams.

What I Tested

For this guide I was checking:

  • Install reliability — Does the Downloader code (250931) pull the current APK without errors?
  • Addon setup flow — How smooth is the process of adding custom manifest URLs post-install?
  • Navigation with a D-pad — Can you actually use this on a Firestick remote without a Bluetooth keyboard?
  • Home screen integration — Does the app icon show up where it should after install?

The answer to all four: yes, with a couple of caveats I’ll flag in the steps below.

Step 1: Enable Developer Options on Your Firestick

Before you can sideload anything, your Firestick needs to know you’re serious.

How to Install Arvio APK on Firestick

6 steps
1

Enable Developer Options

From the home screen, go to SettingsMy Fire TVAbout. Find your device name in the list and click it 7 times in a row. You’ll see a toast message confirming Developer Options are now enabled. Back out one level and you’ll see the new Developer Options menu item appear.

2

Turn On Apps from Unknown Sources

Go into Developer Options and toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to ON. You’ll get a warning — that’s expected. Tap Turn On to confirm. This is the setting that allows sideloaded APKs to install.

3

Install the Downloader App

Return to the home screen and open the Search icon (magnifying glass at the top). Type Downloader and select the result — it’s the app with an orange logo and white arrow. Download and install it from the Amazon Appstore. It’s free and official.

4

Enter the Downloader Code for Arvio

Open Downloader and select the Home tab on the left sidebar. In the URL/code input field, enter code 250931. This loads the TROYPOINT Toolbox. Once it opens, scroll through the list to find Arvio and select Download.

5

Install the APK and Clean Up

Once the APK downloads, Downloader will prompt you to install it. Tap Install, wait for the process to complete, then tap Done. Back in Downloader, select Delete twice to remove the APK file and free up storage space.

6

Set Up Your Profile and Add Addons

Launch Arvio from your apps list. On first run, you’ll be prompted to create a user profile — fill this in under the app’s settings. To add content, go to SettingsAddonsAdd Custom Addon, then enter your Stremio addon manifest URLs one at a time. Repeat for each addon you want to use.

Installing Arvio on Android TV and Google TV

The steps are nearly identical to Firestick, with a few label differences.

On Android TV devices, enabling unknown sources is typically under SettingsDevice PreferencesSecurity & Restrictions → toggle Unknown Sources for the Downloader app specifically.

On Google TV devices (Chromecast with Google TV, TCL Google TV, etc.), the setting lives under SettingsSystemAbout (for Developer Options activation), then SettingsApps → toggle Unknown Sources or install from unknown sources per-app.

Once that’s done, the Downloader app is available on both platforms, and code 250931 works identically — same toolbox, same Arvio download.

Arvio: Pros and Cons

After running Arvio on my Firestick 4K Max for a couple of weeks, here’s the honest breakdown:

Pros

  • Completely free to download and use — no subscription for the base app
  • Stremio-based architecture means a huge ecosystem of existing addons
  • Downloader code (250931) makes sideloading straightforward — no manual URL typing
  • Works across Firestick, Fire TV Cube, Android TV, and Google TV from one APK
  • Clean interface that navigates well with a D-pad remote

Cons

  • App itself is content-empty until you configure addons — setup isn't truly plug-and-play
  • Addon manifest URLs require some research before you can watch anything
  • No specific version information available — harder to track updates or know what's current
  • Stream quality entirely depends on addon quality, not Arvio itself

Troubleshooting Common Issues

“The APK won’t install” — Go back and confirm Apps from Unknown Sources is toggled ON in Developer Options. If you enabled it and then restarted your device before installing, check whether it reset — some older Fire OS versions don’t persist this setting.

“I can’t find content after installing” — This is expected. Arvio requires addon URLs to function. Without at least one active addon configured under Settings → Addons, the app shows nothing. Check Stremio addon repositories for compatible manifest URLs.

“The app crashes on launch” — Try clearing the Downloader cache first (Downloader → Settings → Clear Cache), then re-download via code 250931. This typically resolves corrupted APK downloads.

“Streams are buffering constantly” — This is usually an addon issue, not Arvio. Consider pairing your setup with Real-Debrid for premium cached links — it’s the single biggest upgrade you can make to any Stremio-based setup. A VPN may also help if your ISP is throttling streaming traffic.

Boost Your Streams: Add Real-Debrid to Arvio

Arvio by itself, with basic free addons, will get you content — but free streams are often unreliable, low quality, or dead. Real-Debrid is a premium link resolver that caches popular movies and TV shows on high-speed servers and makes them available to compatible addons. The difference in practice: instead of hunting through five dead links to find a working stream, your first result plays immediately in full quality.

If you’re going to invest time setting up Arvio with addons, pairing it with Real-Debrid makes the whole thing actually usable day-to-day. Our full Real-Debrid setup guide walks through linking it to Stremio-based apps in about five minutes.
