Nuvio isn’t in the Amazon App Store. It’s not on Google Play either. And yet it’s quietly become one of the more talked-about free streaming apps going into 2026 — the kind of thing people share in Fire TV forums and Discord servers rather than mainstream tech coverage. I installed it on my Firestick 4K Max to see what the fuss was about, and I’ll walk you through the exact process I used.

There are two ways to get Nuvio on your device. Both involve the Downloader app and a numeric code — one routes through the TROYPOINT Toolbox, the other is a direct APK link. I’ll cover both, plus what to do when the QR code sign-in throws a fit.

Quick Answer

To install Nuvio on Firestick: open the Downloader app and enter code 250931 to access the TROYPOINT Toolbox, then scroll to Nuvio and select “TV Download.” Create a free account at nuvioapp.space first. The whole setup takes about 10 minutes — account creation, install, and profile sync included.

What You Need Before You Start

Nuvio is a sideloaded app, which means your Firestick needs one setting changed before you can install anything outside the Amazon App Store. If you’ve already installed apps this way before, you’re good to go. If not, here’s the quick version:

Go to SettingsMy Fire TVDeveloper Options → toggle Apps from Unknown Sources to ON.

That’s the only “scary” part. After that, the Downloader app handles everything.

You’ll also want to have your Nuvio account ready before you sit down at the TV. Sign-ups happen at nuvioapp.space on a phone or computer — doing it on the Firestick browser is technically possible but miserable. Use a real email address you can access quickly, since you’ll need it to scan the QR code during first launch.

If you haven’t done the sideloading setup before, check out our full Firestick sideloading guide — it covers the Downloader setup in detail.

The TROYPOINT Toolbox is basically a curated directory of sideloadable apps with direct download links. It’s maintained, the links stay current, and it removes the guesswork of finding a working APK source on your own.

Install Nuvio via TROYPOINT Toolbox

6 steps
1

Open Downloader

From your Firestick home screen, find and open the Downloader app. If you don’t have it installed, search for “Downloader” in the Amazon App Store and install it first — it’s free and official.

2

Enter the TROYPOINT Code

On the Downloader home screen, tap the URL bar and enter the code 250931. This loads the TROYPOINT Toolbox directly — no need to type a long URL.

3

Find Nuvio in the Toolbox

Once the Toolbox loads, scroll through the app list to find Nuvio. The list is alphabetical, so it won’t take long.

4

Select TV Download

Tap on Nuvio, then select TV Download. This downloads the correct APK build for Fire TV and Android TV devices — not the phone version.

5

Install and Clean Up

When the download finishes, tap Install. Once it completes, select Done (not Open). Then go back to Downloader and delete the APK file — it just takes up your limited Firestick storage once it’s installed.

6

Sign In and Sync Your Profile

Launch Nuvio from your app list. The app will display a QR code — scan it with your phone while logged into your nuvioapp.space account to complete sign-in. Choose your profile and download any available updates when prompted.

Method 2: Direct APK via Downloader Code 28907

If the TROYPOINT Toolbox isn’t loading or you’d rather skip it, there’s a second route. The code 28907 (sourced from firetvsticks.com) downloads the Nuvio APK directly.

One important caveat: this is a one-time use token, valid for approximately 30 minutes after it’s generated. If the code doesn’t work when you try it, the token may have expired — this method is more hit-or-miss than the Toolbox approach.

The steps are the same as Method 1 from Step 4 onward: Downloader → enter code → TV Download → Install → Done → delete APK → launch and sign in.

Signing In: What to Do When the QR Code Fails

The QR code scan is the slickest sign-in method when it works, but it doesn’t always. A few things that can cause it to fail:

  • Your phone camera app doesn’t auto-open links (try a dedicated QR scanner)
  • The code expired before you scanned it (relaunch Nuvio for a fresh one)
  • You’re not logged into nuvioapp.space on your phone

If QR scanning is just not happening for you, there’s a fallback. After signing in another way, you can add addons manually through Nuvio’s Addon section by copy-pasting installation URLs from your phone. It’s a bit more involved, but it gets the job done.

Nuvio: What It Actually Is

Nuvio

Nuvio

7.8 /10
Best For: Free on-demand streaming with addon support Price: Free
Why We Picked It:
  • Completely free — no subscription required
  • Addon support expands content library significantly
  • QR code sign-in is fast when it works
  • Available on Firestick, Google TV, and Android TV
Create Free Account →

Nuvio sits in the same category as Stremio — a streaming platform that gets more useful the more addons you attach to it. Out of the box, it plays content from its own index. Add community addons and the library expands considerably.

It’s free. That’s the headline. No subscription, no trial, no credit card at checkout — just create an account and start watching.

Pros

  • Free to use with no subscription required
  • Works across Firestick, Google TV, and Android TV devices
  • Addon system significantly expands available content
  • QR code sign-in syncs your profile quickly across devices
  • Regular app updates available on first launch

Cons

  • Not in any official app store — sideload required every time
  • QR code sign-in can expire or fail, requiring workaround
  • No mainstream privacy policy or transparent developer information
  • One-time Downloader code (28907) has a 30-minute expiry window
  • Limited official documentation or support channels

Troubleshooting Nuvio on Firestick

The three fixes that solve most Nuvio problems:

1. App not loading or stuck on splash screen Force stop the app: SettingsApplicationsManage Installed ApplicationsNuvioForce Stop. Then relaunch.

2. Content not loading or sync issues Clear the app cache from the same menu: NuvioClear Cache. This resets any corrupted session data without losing your account settings.

3. Everything seems broken Reboot the Firestick. Hold the Home button on your remote and select Restart, or go to SettingsMy Fire TVRestart. Half of all Firestick app issues disappear after a restart — it’s embarrassingly effective.

Google TV and Android TV: Same Process, Different Menu Paths

The Downloader codes and APK installation work the same way on Google TV and Android TV devices. The difference is in how you enable unknown sources:

  • Google TV (e.g., Chromecast with Google TV): Settings → Apps → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Sources → turn on for Downloader
  • Android TV: Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Apps → toggle Downloader on

After that, the Downloader app works identically and the same codes (250931 or 28907) apply.

What to Watch Next

Nuvio is solid for on-demand content, but if you want to go deeper into free streaming on your Firestick, these are worth your time:

And if you want to pair Nuvio with premium streaming links, Real-Debrid is worth a look — it caches high-quality sources so you’re not gambling on whatever mirror loads first.
