Tested on Firestick 4K Max 🔄 Updated April 2026 Verified Working

I’ve installed a lot of Kodi addons on my Firestick 4K Max over the years — most of them disappoint. Buffering, dead links, sources that load for 30 seconds only to error out. Genocide is different, and the reason is right there in the name of this guide: debrid only. No free links, no junk sources, no spinning wheel of doom. If you’ve got a Real-Debrid account, this addon pulls cached content fast and clean.

The catch is that Genocide won’t do anything useful without that debrid account. It’s not free-streaming adjacent — it’s built entirely around premium cached links. That’s a feature, not a limitation, once you understand how debrid works.

Here’s the full installation process, tested on Kodi 21.3 running on a Firestick 4K Max.

Quick Answer

To install Genocide on Kodi: enable Unknown Sources in Kodi’s settings, add The Crew Repository (https://team-crew.github.io) via File Manager, install the Genocide addon from that repo, then authorize your Real-Debrid account under Kodi’s Tools → Settings: Accounts. The whole process takes about 10 minutes. You need a paid debrid service — Real-Debrid is the one I use and recommend.

What You Need Before You Start

Before we touch a single setting, make sure you have these three things ready:

  • Kodi installed on your Firestick. If you haven’t done that yet, follow our complete Kodi installation guide first — it walks through the Downloader app method step by step.
  • A Real-Debrid account. Genocide is debrid-only. No debrid account = no streams. More on this below.
  • A VPN running. Seriously — more on that in a second too.

Why Genocide Is Debrid-Only (And Why That’s Good)

Most Kodi addons try to scrape free streaming links from the open web. The result is what you’ve probably experienced — ten sources load, eight are dead, one buffers at 480p, and the last one works for four minutes before dying. Genocide skips all of that.

By requiring a debrid service like Real-Debrid, the addon accesses cached premium downloads — files that have already been stored on high-speed servers. When you select something to watch, you’re essentially streaming a pre-downloaded file from a fast server rather than hoping some random open host is still alive. That’s why Genocide users typically get consistent, high-quality playback where other addons fall apart.

The trade-off: you pay for the debrid service. Real-Debrid typically runs a few euros per month — check their site for current pricing. For what you get in return, most Kodi users who try it don’t go back.

How to Install Genocide on Kodi (Full Steps)

Install Genocide Addon on Kodi

5 steps
1

Enable Unknown Sources

Open Kodi and go to Settings (the gear icon on the home screen) → SystemAdd-ons. Toggle Unknown sources to ON. Kodi will warn you about third-party addons — select Yes to confirm. This setting lets Kodi install addons from outside the official Kodi repository, which is how The Crew Repo works.

2

Add The Crew Repository via File Manager

From the Kodi home screen, go back to SettingsFile ManagerAdd source. When the dialog box appears, select the field that says <None> and type in this URL exactly:

https://team-crew.github.io

Below that, give the source a name — something like The Crew works fine. Select OK to save it.

3

Install The Crew Repository

Return to the Kodi home screen and go to Add-ons → select the open box icon in the top-left corner (Install from zip file) → navigate to The Crew (the source you just added) → select the repository zip file that appears. Wait for the “Add-on installed” notification in the top-right corner before moving on.

4

Install Genocide from The Crew Repository

Still in the Add-ons section, select Install from repositoryThe Crew RepositoryVideo add-ons → find Genocide in the list and select it → hit Install. Give it a moment to pull the addon and any dependencies. You’ll get another confirmation notification when it’s done.

5

Authorize Real-Debrid

From the Kodi home screen, select ToolsSettings: Accounts → hover over the Accounts section and click Authorize under Real-Debrid. Kodi will display an authorization code. On a separate device (phone, laptop, anything with a browser), go to real-debrid.com/device and enter that code. Once you complete the authorization on the website, return to Kodi — your Real-Debrid account should now show as connected. Launch Genocide and you’re ready to stream.

Genocide Addon: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Debrid-only design means consistently high-quality streams — no dead links or free-tier junk
  • Part of The Crew Repository, which is well-maintained and regularly updated
  • Works with Real-Debrid, Premiumize, and Alldebrid — pick your preferred service
  • VOD library pulls cached premium sources, so playback starts fast
  • Compatible with Firestick, Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV

Cons

  • Requires a paid debrid subscription — not useful at all without one
  • No free streaming links whatsoever — if you're looking for free options, this isn't it
  • Relies on The Crew Repository staying active and maintained

If you’re new to debrid services, the short version is this: Real-Debrid acts as a middleman that caches premium-quality downloads and lets you stream them at full speed. It’s not a streaming service itself — it’s infrastructure that makes your Kodi addons actually work reliably. For a deep dive into setup across multiple apps, see our complete Real-Debrid setup guide for Firestick.

Troubleshooting: If Something Goes Wrong

Genocide isn’t showing streams: Double-check that your Real-Debrid authorization completed successfully. Go to Tools → Settings: Accounts and confirm your account shows as linked. If it looks disconnected, repeat the authorization process.

“Failed to install dependency” error: This usually means The Crew Repository URL was entered incorrectly. Go back to Settings → File Manager, remove the source, and re-add it with the exact URL: https://team-crew.github.io. One wrong character will break it.

Streams load but then buffer: Your VPN might be causing overhead. Try switching to a server closer to your physical location. If you’re not using a VPN at all, your ISP throttling is the likely culprit — see our Firestick buffering fixes guide for a full rundown.

Authorization code expired before you entered it: The device auth codes have a time limit. If you were too slow entering it on the website, restart the authorization process in Kodi to generate a fresh code.

More Kodi Addons Worth Exploring

Genocide is one of the cleaner debrid-only options in The Crew Repository, but it’s not the only one worth your time. If you want to see how it stacks up against the broader field, our best Kodi addons for Firestick guide covers 20 tested options across movies, TV, sports, and live TV — with notes on which ones require debrid and which still work free.

If you’re building out a full Kodi setup and want to go deeper, the best Kodi builds for Firestick guide is worth a look — several of the top builds include Genocide or similar debrid-focused addons pre-configured.

And if you’re still on the fence about sideloading apps in general, that guide covers the safety and legal basics before you go any further down the Kodi rabbit hole.

Bottom Line

Genocide does one thing and does it well: debrid-powered VOD streaming with no free-link noise cluttering up the results. Setup is straightforward once you have Kodi and Real-Debrid in place — The Crew Repository is reliable, and the authorization flow is the same as most other debrid-enabled addons.

The real cost here isn’t the addon (it’s free) — it’s the Real-Debrid subscription and, ideally, a VPN. Both are worth it if you’re serious about actually using Kodi rather than fighting it.
