STRMR App on Firestick/Android TV (Install & Setup Guide)
Step-by-step guide to installing and setting up STRMR on Firestick and Android TV. Sideload the app, link your Google account, authorize Trakt, and start streaming.
If you’ve ever wished Stremio was easier to navigate from your couch with a Fire TV remote, STRMR is basically the answer to that problem. It takes the Stremio ecosystem — addons, Trakt integration, debrid support — and wraps it in an interface built for a D-pad, not a mouse. I set it up on my Firestick 4K Max recently and had it pulling streams within about fifteen minutes of starting from scratch.
It’s not in the Amazon Appstore, so there’s some sideloading involved. Nothing complicated — if you’ve ever used the Downloader app before, this is the same process. If you haven’t, I’ll walk through every step.

What STRMR Actually Is
STRMR is a sideloaded streaming app designed specifically for Firestick and Android TV. Think of it as a Firestick-optimized frontend for the kind of addon-based streaming that Stremio popularized — but with navigation built around a TV remote rather than a mouse cursor.
Where 
Stremio’s Fire TV interface can feel a bit awkward with D-pad navigation, STRMR is purpose-built for that experience. You connect it to your Google account, link it to Trakt for library management, install your addons, and then optionally plug in a debrid service like 
Real-Debrid for premium-quality streams. The app itself is free — the addons and any debrid subscriptions are separate.
It’s not on the Amazon Appstore as of April 2026, which means sideloading is required. That’s a five-minute process if you’ve done it before.
What I Tested For
I ran through the full install and setup on a Firestick 4K Max running Fire OS 8. Specifically, I wanted to know:
- How smooth is the sideload process?
- Does the Google account linking work reliably?
- How does D-pad navigation feel compared to Stremio’s native Fire TV app?
- Does it play nicely with Real-Debrid?
- What are the realistic gotchas first-time users will hit?
Below is everything I found.
How to Install STRMR on Firestick
There are two ways to get the APK onto your device. I recommend the TROYPOINT Toolbox method — it’s one less step and handles the download cleanly.
Method 1: TROYPOINT Toolbox (Recommended)
Install STRMR via TROYPOINT Toolbox

If you don’t have 
Downloader installed, search for it in the Amazon Appstore and install it first. It’s free and takes about 30 seconds to install.
Enter the Toolbox Code
Open Downloader and enter code 250931 in the URL/search field. This loads the TROYPOINT Toolbox directly. Hit Go.
Install the Toolbox
Follow the prompts to install TROYPOINT Toolbox. When it asks about installing unknown apps, tap Settings, enable the toggle for Downloader, then hit the back button and tap Install.
Find and Install STRMR
Once the Toolbox is installed and open, navigate to STRMR in the app list and select it. The Toolbox downloads the APK automatically and launches the installer. Tap Install when prompted.
Launch STRMR
After installation completes, tap Open — or find STRMR in your apps list. You’ll see an authorization code on screen. Keep this window open — you’ll need it in the next section.
Method 2: Direct APK Download
If you prefer not to use the Toolbox, open Downloader and navigate to bit.ly/strmrdl or https://www.toptvtips.com/STRMR. When the download page loads, select the ARM APK — that’s the correct version for Firestick. Dismiss any pop-ups before tapping download, and wait for the full APK to finish before tapping Install.
How to Set Up and Authorize STRMR
The install is only half the job. STRMR needs to be linked to a Google account before it does anything useful.

When you launch STRMR for the first time, an authorization code appears on screen. Leave the app open — it’ll time out if you wait too long.
Link Your Device at strmr.net/link
On your phone, tablet, or laptop — anything with a browser — go to strmr.net/link. Sign in with a Google account and enter the authorization code from your Firestick screen. I recommend using a secondary Google account here rather than your main one — there’s no reason to hand your primary account to a third-party app.
Authorize Trakt (Optional but Recommended)
After device linking, STRMR will prompt you to connect a 
Trakt account. Trakt tracks what you’ve watched and syncs your library. If you already use Trakt, link it here. If not, a free Trakt account takes about 90 seconds to create on trakt.tv.
Install Addons and Connect Debrid
Once authorized, you’ll be prompted to install addons. Addon bundles are the fastest way to get set up — select a bundle and STRMR installs everything in one go. For premium stream quality, connect Real-Debrid through the addon settings after the bundle install.

STRMR vs. Alternatives
STRMR isn’t your only option for this style of streaming on Firestick. Here’s how it stacks up against the most common alternatives.

The short version: If you’re already in the Stremio ecosystem and frustrated by its Fire TV interface, STRMR is the obvious upgrade. If you’re starting from scratch and want the broadest addon selection with the least friction, native Stremio is still the benchmark — STRMR just makes the Firestick experience smoother. STIRR TV is a completely different animal — it’s live TV channels rather than on-demand, so compare your use case before installing both.
Known Issues and Fixes
“Install unknown apps” prompt keeps appearing — This is expected on first launch. Go to Settings → Applications → find Downloader → enable “Install Unknown Apps.” You only need to do this once.
APK download stalls or fails — Variable download speeds are normal on slower connections. Wait for the full APK to complete before tapping Install. If it fails partway through, delete the partial file in Downloader and try again.
Pop-ups on the direct download page — If you use the direct URL method instead of the Toolbox, dismiss any pop-ups before clicking the download link. They’re annoying but harmless — just don’t click them.
Device authorization times out — STRMR’s auth code has a limited lifespan. If it expires before you finish at strmr.net/link, close and reopen the app to generate a new code.
Pair STRMR With Real-Debrid for Better Streams
STRMR works fine on its own, but the stream quality jumps significantly when you connect Real-Debrid. Real-Debrid is a link aggregator — it resolves streams from hosting sites and gives you fast, reliable, high-quality links instead of whoever-hosted-this-random-file links.
It costs a few dollars per month and is practically essential for getting consistent 4K and 1080p streams from addon sources.
